Winter Weather Advisory In Effect for Wednesday

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect on Wednesday, February 7th from 10AM to 1AM on Thursday, February 8th for Ellsworth, Bar Harbor, Bucksport, Eastport, Machias and Cherryfield.

The latest forecast for Wednesday, February 7th for Downeast Maine calls for snow with accumulations of 3 to 5 inches during the day. Highs will be in the lower 30's and winds will be Easterly, 10 to 15 miles per hour.

Wednesday night, the snow will continue and mix with rain and freezing rain in the evening. There will be 1 to 3 inches of snow Wednesday night, with a total snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches. There will be some icing, with accumulation  up to 1/10th of an inch. Lows Wednesday night will be around 20, with winds coming from the South, 15 to 20 miles per hour, becoming northwesterly 10 to 15 miles per hour after midnight.
