The National Weather Service in Caribou has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Blizzard Conditions for Downeast Maine, with the watch covering all the way from Downeast Maine into Aroostook County.

According to the National Weather Service blizzard conditions are possible with travel potential being very difficult, especially during the evening commute on Thursday. Power outages are possible and total snow accumulations of 10 to 16 inches are possible.

Additional, wind gusts as high as 45 miles per hour could cause whiteout conditions in the blowing snow. Significant snowdrifts are possible.
