The Boston Red Sox lost to the Chicago White Sox 1-0 Friday night, June 9th and fell out of 1st place, as the New York Yankees beat the New York Mets 4-1 and are now a half game out of 1st place.

Red Sox ace Chris Sale was dominant, going 8 innings, allowing just 6 hits and 1 earned run. He walked 1 and struck out 10.

The Red Sox only managed 3 hits in the game. Andrew Benintendi and Rafael Devers each had a double and Xander Bogaerts had a single.

The game sped along, only taking 2 hours and 24 minutes.

The Red Sox will look to snap their 2 game losing streak and climb back into 1st place Saturday afternoon when they play Chicago in the 2nd game of the 3 game series.
