Dustin Pedroia will not play in Saturday night's game against the Tampa Bay Rays as he continues to be evaluated for an injury to his right hand. It happened in Friday night's when he landed awkwardly on that right hand after taking a throw from catcher A.J. Pierzinski.

The x-rays on the hand came back negative but now Pedroia will have a MRI on the hand.

Pedroia has played in 53 of the 54 Sox games.

UPDATE:  Sox send OF Daniel Nava back to triple-A Pawtucket to open a roster spot for Saturday night starter Rubby De La Rosa.
