LePage Administration Releases Medicaid Report
The LePage administration on Friday released the much-anticipated "Alexander Report," which the governor claims shows widespread abuse of the state's welfare system.
The report analyzes the state's welfare system, and specifically deals with the expansion of Medicaid in Maine under the Affordable Care Act, which is a contentious issue between Democrats and Republicans.
The Alexander report, as it's now known, was commissioned by the DHHS and the study has been spearheaded by Gary Alexander.
The state received a preliminary copy of the report back in December, but according to Maine's Attorney General Janet Mills, the Governor and DHHS are dragging their feet in complying with disclosure requests.
When asked by a reporter what LePage thought about the AG demanding the release of the report, Governor LePage explained his administration was still digesting the information and would release it when they were prepared to answer questions from the media. The Governor reportedly responded,"tell her to sue me."
