I had the pleasure of being part of the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce delegation to go out onto the AIDAvita on Tuesday, June 26th to welcome her to Bar Harbor. Her maiden trip was on June 18th, but a Coast Guard and Customs inspection didn't allow the Captain to meet with the delegation, so it was pushed to today.

Martha Searchfield, the Executive Director of the Bar Harbor Chamber Commerce, Debbie Dyer, the Curator of the Bar Harbor Historical Society, Mary Hummel from the Bar Harbor Hampton Inn and I road out on a tender to meet the Captain, and take a tour of the ship.

While we came out onto the ship, most of the 1000 plus passengers came onshore for excursions to Acadia National Park, tours of the Island and some shopping.

The AIDAvita is scheduled to return to Bar Harbor on August 13th
