Wear Pink this Friday at the MDI Football Game!
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month! This is a cause near and dear to my heart, as my mother had breast cancer. Luckily she is fine now, but cancer runs in my family. My father had cancer and I am lucky enough to be a two time survivor. I have always loved when the MDI Girl’s Basketball Team and Ellsworth Girl’s Basketball Teams have done Breast Cancer Awareness Nights. I think it’s so important that high school students learnĀ the importance of self exams, because the key to survival is early detection!
The MDI Football Team is getting in the action too! One of the senior captain’s mother is currently dealing with breast cancer. Cancer impacts the entire family. I know this from experience. If you’re going to MDI High School’s football game this Friday night, please show your support! Wear pink, and if possible, make a donation to the MDI Hospital’s Breast Cancer Center. Let’s face it, we all have to be on the same team to defeat cancer!
