Funeral plans have been announced for Chief Deputy Shawn Donahue who passed away over the weekend.
Our condolences to the family, friends and coworkers of Washington County Chief Deputy Shawn Donahue who passed away Saturday afternoon, May 17, 2014 while traveling to Bangor with his family.

Chief Deputy Donahue, 41, was with his family when he passed away due to natural causes. During his nineteen-year career in law enforcement, Chief Deputy Donahue held many patrol and administrative positions, including Chief of Police of the Baileyville Police Department. He became Chief Deputy of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in January, 2013. Funeral arrangements will be announced in the coming days.

 

Washington County Sheriff Donnie Smith said in a press release that visiting hours will be held Wednesday, May 21st, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and again 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Washington County Community College on Gatcomb Drive in Calais.

Funeral Services will be public and are scheduled for Thursday, May 22nd at 1 p.m., also at WCCC.

In lieu of flowers, donations to assist the family can be sent to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, 83 Court Street, Machias, ME 04654, in care of Sgt. Brandon Parker.

Sheriff Smith asks that visiting departments contact Lt. Tim Tabbutt at 263-8709 or Sgt. Ralph Pineo at 263-6330 to let them know how many plan to attend.
