For the 2nd day in a row, the Ellsworth Eagles faced one of the top notch pitchers in Eastern Maine, and unfortunately for the Eagles, they ended up on the losing end again, this time falling to Washington Academy 3-0 in East Machias.

Gage Feeney pitched a masterpiece for Washington Academy, just allowing 2 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 1. He needed just 93 pitches in picking up the win.

Charlie Libby was the tough luck loser for Ellsworth. He allowed 3 runs, all earned while scattering 5 hits and striking out 5.

The big hit for Washington Academy was the home run by Colin Pineo in the bottom of the 6th inning with 2 on, and those were the only runs in the game.

Ellsworth's 2 hits belonged to Mitchell Domagala and Griffen Nightengale. Nightengale's hit was a double.

For Washington Academy Kyle Taylor was 2-3, Cameron Varney was 1-3 and Spencer Johnson was 1-3. Pineo was 1-3 with the homer.

Ellsworth is now 7-6 and will play host to Bucksport on Tuesday, May 26th at 4:30 PM.

Washington Academy is 7-4 and will play host to the Lee Pandas on Tuesday, May 26th at 4:30 PM.
