Early on the morning of December 30th, I saw something in the sky that looked like a shooting star, but seemed much closer. MUCH closer! It was a little freaky. As it turns out, it was a meteor that was visible to most of the East Coast! One driver in New Jersey caught it on video.

What I saw looked exactly like this. And it looked close enough to have dropped into the neighbor's yard. Of course, space is a funny thing, making things look closer and much smaller than they actually are.

Whether I saw the meteor or just a fragment, it was cool! And seriously freaked me out until I realized that it was actually a meteor. At first, I wasn't sure whether to expect the little green men to appear or grab my metal detector and head to the neighbor's yard!
