Victorino Activated Betts Optioned

Mookie Betts was optioned to Triple A Pawtucket today, July 19th prior to the Red Sox - Kansas City game. Betts, who shot to the majors, after starting the season at Double A Portland, batted hit .235 with a homer and two RBIs in 34 at-bats for Boston after being promoted to the Majors on June 28.

Shane Victorino has only played 21 games for the Red Sox in 2014, and has been on the disabled list twice this year, most recently since May 24th. Victorino was starting in right field tonight against the Royals.
