Here's the latest from the press release from the Bangor Police Department concerning the accident during the Bangor - Brewer 4th of July, and the resulting fatality.

On July 4, 2013 two vehicles participating in the Fourth of July Parade collided near the intersection of Main and Water Streets during the parade at about 1240PM.  Wallace L. Fenlason, 63 years of age, of Holden, Maine was operating a 1941 tractor on Water Street and died instantly when a 1930 Hose 5 Museum fire truck, operated by Bangor firefighter, Patrick Heathcote, 29 of Levant rolled onto the tractor.

The accident is being investigated by Officer Jim Dearing, the department’s lead Accident Reconstructionist and our Evidence Response Team. A Maine State Police Accident Reconstructionist is also assisting.
