The Ellsworth Girl's and MDI Boy's and Girl's Basketball Teams are all in action tonight, Tuesday, January 6th. We will have recaps and box scores  from all of the games on our website later tonight. Three games , one Chris Popper, so it means we can just broadcast one game, but hopefully we will have scores from all the games to pass along to you tonight.

Ellsworth Girls at Hermon
Ellsworth enters the game at 5-3, and Hermon at 3-5. Ellsworth is in 10th place in the Heal Points and Hermon is in 11th Place. Ellsworth defeated Hermon 56-38 back on December 19th. Ellsworth needs to get back on the winning track after losing two in a row to the two top teams in the Big East, Presque Isle and MDI. The Eagles need to do what they do best, run the ball, get the rock to Maddie Card and Hailee Langley. Sammy Mason needs to regain her scoring ways. A big game from Emily Berry will go a long way to insuring a Eagle win.

MDI Girls at Old Town
This game will be broadcast on WDEA AM 1370 and WDEA Internet Radio. MDI comes in as the lone unbeaten team in Class B East, at 8-0. Old Town is 3-6. MDI defeated Old Town in the opening game of the season 64-24. MDI is in 2nd place in the Heal Points and Old Town is in 12th place. MDI should win this game easily, but Mackenzie Gymnasium in Old Town has always proven to be a tough place to play for the Trojans. The Trojans are led by Sarah Phelps, Kelsey Shaw and Sierra Tapley, the Big East Girl's Player of the Week for Week 4. Shaw has been the Co-Player of the Week for Week 1, and Player of the Week for Week 2.

MDI  Boys vs. Old Town
Bernard Parady Gymnasium should be rocking tonight! The MDI Pep Band is inviting all alumni to rejoin the band for the night! MDI 2-5 on the season , is on a two game winning streak after beating Presque Isle on December 30th and upsetting Ellsworth on Saturday, January 3rd. The Trojans are in 12th place in the Heal Points, while Old Town is undefeated on the season at 8-0 and in 3rd place in the Heal Point standings. MDI lost to Old Town 65-46 in the opening game of the season, but since then have improved dramatically. This game will feature the Big East Co-Players of the Week, Riley Swanson for MDI and Eric Hoogterp for Old Town.

MDI needs to stay out of foul trouble. Swanson and Aaron Snurkowski have to hit the outside shots, and they need to be able to run the ball, making their lay-ups and free throws. The Trojans have to limit the Coyotes three point shots. Old Town loves to shoot the 3-pointers and they outrebounded MDI badly in the first game of the season. If MDI were able to upset the Coyotes and win their 3rd game in a row, MDI could move up to 8th place in the Heal Point Standings.
