The MDI Boy's Baseball Team shutout the Ellsworth Eagles 10-0 in a mercy rule shortened game in Bar Harbor on Senior Day in Bar Harbor. It was a hot, sunny afternoon, and the sun certainly played an impact in the game, as balls hit to left field were difficult to track and catch as the left fielder was staring right into the sun.

Ellsworth threatened in the top of the 1st inning as Bradly Smith walked and advanced to 2nd on Jared Hamilton's single to left. Both runners advanced on Nick Bagley's ground out, but then Derek Collins, the Trojan pitcher got Sam Giffin to strike out.

In the bottom of the 2nd inning, MDI sent 12 batters to the plate and scored 8 runs. Austin Fournier struck out to start the inningd. But then Kyle Lampson was drilled in the ribs by a pitch, and Geoffrey Hanscom walked and Matt Lambert walked to load the bases. Nick Soper singled driving in a run. Avery Anderson pitching in relief for Connor Wagstaff walked Ezra Johnson and then balked scoring Lambert and moving up Johnson and Soper. Nick Stanley walked loading the bases. Riley Swanson singled, driving in a run and reloading the bases. Seth Young singled and drive in another run. Austin Fournier grounded to short, and drove in a run with a fielder's choice. Lampson roped a double to left, driving in a run.

In the 4th inning, MDI scored two more runs, as Seth Young doubled with one out. Austin Fournier tripled scoring Young, and then Fournier scored on Hanscom's sacrifice fly to right.

Dylan Collin pitched a complete game for the win for MDI. He struck out 3, walked 1 and allowed 4 hits.

Connor Wagstaff pitched 1.1 innings and Avery Anderson pitched the final 2.2 innings. Combined, they allowed 7 hits, striking out 2 and walking 5.

For MDI Seth Young was 2-3 with 2 RBI's with a double. Kyle Lampson was 1-1 with a double and a RBI. Austin Fournier has a triple with 2 RBIs. Nick Stanley, Riley Swanson, Kyle Lampson and Nick Soper all had singles for the Trojans.

For Ellsworth, Jared Hamilton was 2-2 with a double. Austin Baron and Matthew Burnett each had singles for the Eagles.

MDI finishes the regular season with a 8-8 record and are in the playoffs, likely in the #11 seed.

Ellsworth finishes the regular season with a 5-11 record and will likely finish 12th, which will put them in the playoffs.

If the Heal Points stay as they are, MDI will play at Waterville in the Prelim Game and Ellsworth will play at Oceanside in the Prelim Game'

Note - Ellsworth defeated MDI in softball 2-1.
