Trojans Nip ‘Guagus In OT [BOX SCORE]

The MDI Girl's Basektball Team traveled to Harrington to play the Narraguagus Knights in their final preseason game and came away with a 52-48 overtime victory.

MDI led 16-13 at the end of the 1st Quarter, 27-24 at the Half, and 38-35 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. But Narraguagus outscored MDI 9-6 in the 4th Quarter to force overtime. In OT, The Trojans outscored Narraguagus 8-4 to bring home the victory.

MDI was led by Maddy Candage who had a game high 20 points. The Trojans were 21-27 from the free throw line. Julia Watras and Alexis Clarito each had 3-pointers.

Narraguagus was led by Madison Leighton with 17 points. The Knights were 14-28 from the free throw line. Madison Leighton, Emma Redimarker and Kayla Toppin had 3-pointers.

MDI opens the regular season at home on Friday, December 9th at 7 PM against Old Town in a gmae that will be broadcast on AM 1370 WDEA and WDEA Internet Radio with the pregame scheduled to start at 6:45 PM.
