Trojans Ground Hawks 50-0 [PHOTOS]

The MDI Trojans defeated the Hermon Hawks 50-0 on Friday, September 23rd in Bar Harbor. The Trojans scored on 4 of their 5 possessions in the 1st Half en route to a 36-0 lead at the half. The 2nd Half was played under running time.

Hermon won the toss, and decided to defer, and kicked off to MDI. MDI took the ball at their own 42 yard line. The Trojans scored on a 10 play drive that took 3:42 with Croix Albee running in from the 1 yard line. Albee carried the ball 6 times during the drive rushing for 40 yards. Albee ran in for the 2 point conversion. MDI led 8-0 with 8:12 remaining in the 1st Quarter.

Hermon took over at their own 32 yard line, and the Trojan's defense forced them to turn the ball over on downs, with the Trojans taking over on their own 32 yard line with 3:55 remaining in the 1st Quarter.

In a drive that took 3:33, Albee scored from the 1 yard line, and then Drew Rich kicked the extra point. With 1:22 remaining in the 1st Quarter MDI led 15-0.

Hermon took over on their own 24 yard line with 1:16 remaining and then had to punt, and MDI took over on the Hermon 36 yard line with 7.5 seconds remaining in the 1st Quarter.

The Trojans scored again, Albee running in from 4 yards out for his 3rd touchdown of the game, in a drive that took 2:05. Rich's extra point kick was good and MDI was up 22-0 with 10:06 left in the 1st Half.

Hermon took over on their own 23 yard line, and MDI's defense forced Hermon to punt. MDI's Drew Rich took the punt at his own 39 yard line and ran the punt back 69 yards for a touchdown. Rich's kick was good, and with 5:42 remaining in the 1st Half, MDI was up 29-0.

Hermon took over at their own 23 yard line with 5:37 and were forced to punt again. MDI took over at the Hermon 32 yard line with 4:14 left after a poor punt.

MDI scored, with Colby Lee rushing from 3 yards out, in a drive that took 2:02. With 2:12 remaining in the 1st Half, MDI was up 36-0 after Rich's point after kick sailed through the uprights.

In the 2nd Half Hermon received the kick on their own 36 yard line, but MDI's Gus Reeves picked off Connor Magliozi's pass and the Trojans took over on the Hermon 44 yard line with 9:36 remaining in the 3rd Quarter.

MDI started substituting , and they drove the ball to the Hermon 1 yard line and then Chance Closson ran the ball in. Jakob Gregory kicked the extra point. The drive took 6:34 and MDI led 43-0.

The final drive took 6:38 and MDI scored when Jakob Gregory ran the ball in from 5 yards out. Rich's extra point kick was good and the final was 50-0 MDI.

In the first half, MDI had 158 yards rushing, while Hermon had 35 yards.

MDI is now 3-1 and will play John Bapst on Friday, September 30th at Husson University in a game that will be broadcast on WDEA Internet Radio

Hermon is now 2-2 and plays at Foxcroft Academy on Friday, September 30th.
