Trojan Softball Team Gets Revenge Beats Belfast 11-7 Wednesday

The MDI Trojans beat Belfast 11-7 on Wednesday May 23rd, a little over week after being shutout by the Lions in Belfast 4-0 on Tuesday, May 15th. The Trojans have now won their last 2 games.

MDI banged out 12 hits but also committed 9 errors in the game.

Lindsay McEachern picked up the win for the Trojans, pitching a complete game. She allowed 6 hits. All of the runs were unearned. She struck out 7 and walked 3.

Brooke Richards pitched for the Lions allowing 12 hits and 11 runs, 8 of which were earned. She struck out 4 and walked 3.

Heather Hanscom was 3-4 for MDI, Mackenzie Dyer has 2 doubles. Lindsay McEachern had a double, Madison Thornton and Hannah Chamberlain had a double and single. Madison Neale and Ruby Brown each had a single.

For Belfast Olivia Lovejoy and Macy Gale each had 2 singles. Brooke Richards and Grace Fitjurls each had a single.

MDI now 8-5 is in 12th place in the Class B North Heal Point Standings. The Trojans play host to Washington Academy on Thursday May 24th at 4:30 PM and then to Old Town on Senior Recognition Day on Saturday, May 26th at 12 Noon. The Trojans then conclude the regular season at Ellsworth at 4PM on Tuesday, May 28th

Belfast is 6-8 and plays host to Erskine Academy on Friday, May 25th at 4PM.
