A trio of former MDI and Ellsworth High School softball players will be playing collegiate softball this Spring.

Haley Littlefield, a former MDI Trojan,  will pitch for Thomas College. Now a sophomore, Littlefield appeared in 16 games her freshman year, throwing 25.2 innings. She walked 5, struck out 8 and had an ERA of 1.91. Thomas opens their season in Florida on March 19th with a doubleheader against Oberlin and St. Lawrence.

Kate Whitney will be pitching for St. Joseph's College. Whitney is a freshman. Last year at Ellsworth in her  senior season she had 11 wins with 111 Strikeouts and a  2.11 ERA, The Monks open their season on March 5th in Florida with a doubleheader against St. John Fisher and Emerson.

Caitlin Bean will play first base and the outfield for the Husson University Eagles. During her senior year at Ellsworth, Bean batted .439 during the regular season. Husson opens their season on March 4th in Florida against the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
