Christmas is coming and the Holiday Season will be here before we know it. With Thanksgiving "early" this year, on Thursday, November 22nd, holiday decorations will be up earlier than ever. You may want to save these dates as we have the Christmas Tree lighting dates for Ellsworth, Bar Harbor, Southwest Harbor and Northeast Harbor.

Ellsworth

Ellsworth is going all in for Christmas this year! There's even a website Christmas in Ellsworth. Key dates to remember and mark on your calendar - Lighting of the Christmas Tree in SK Whiting Park on Saturday, November 24th at 4PM and the 38th Annual Downtown Ellsworth Christmas Parade - Saturday December 1st at 11AM

Northeast Harbor

There is a whole day of fun, family activities planned for December 1st for the Northeast Harbor Christmas Festival, beginning at 9AM Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive aboard the Sunbeam at 4PM. From 4:15 to 5:30PM children can visit with Santa at Carter Real Estate. From 4:30-6PM there's the Festival of Trees at Mount Desert Nursery School and a huge bonfire at the Great Harbor Maritime Museum from 4:30-7PM

Bar Harbor

The Village Holidays and Midnight Madness Sale will take place Friday, December 7th The events begin at 4:30 at the Village Green. Everyone is invited to Bar Harbor's Village Green to enjoy free hot cocoa and sing carols with friends and family. At 5:00PM, Santa Claus will arrive to help light the town Christmas tree and offer a special reading of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas.

Then, Santa Claus will head to the MDI YMCA from 5:30-7:00PM., where children and families will have a chance to create some holiday crafts or take part in fun activities provided by local businesses. There will be an ornament station, cookie decorating, and children’s books to read or purchase. Everyone will also have the opportunity to have their picture taken with Kris Kringle himself

Southwest Harbor

Santa arrives on Friday December 7th at 5:30 PM to light the Holiday Tree and then will have pictures taken with children at the Harbor House Community Center.  There's a huge craft fair as well that takes place Friday, December 7th from 3 to 7 PM and Saturday, December 8th from 9 to 2
