Growing old can be hard.  Although now, not so much in Sullivan.

Age-Friendly Sullivan, a group making it easier for older folks to live in their town, has announced their first ever Health and Wellness Resource Fair/Expo.  It will take place at the Sullivan-Sorrento Recreation Center on Route 1, Wednesday, September 19th, between 10 and 3.

The event is FREE for residents of Sullivan and the surrounding areas and will feature more than 20 registered vendors that will offer health screenings and other informational resources to lead a healthy life, while remaining active in your home and community, according to a press release.

A flu clinic, fall risk assessments, blood pressure checks, scale weight, water, muscle, fat screenings are among those early detection tests and prevention vaccinations scheduled to be offered.

Social service agencies will be on hand to enroll you in programs that can assist you to remain in your home with needed supports, as well as provide information to have on hand for when the need arises.  Learn about nutritional support, becoming a foster grand parent, and end of life care that is available.  This is also a terrific opportunity to meet local educators, legal experts, and the friendly volunteers with Age-Friendly Sullivan!
