Cops in Hancock County will be out in force tonight.  No, they won't be writing tickets but they will be dishing out the pasta and pizza for a great cause, Maine's Special Olympics!

Officers from the Ellsworth Police Department, Maine Marine Patrol, State Police and the Hancock County Sheriff's Department will be waiting tables tonight between 4 & 8 p.m. at Pat's Pizza in Ellsworth! Please, tip them well!

All tips will during the Third Annual "Tip-A-Cop" event will go towards the Special Olympics.  Also, $1 for every small pizza and $2 for every large pizza will go towards the fund.

According to their website, The Special Olympics' committee here in Maine "provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage , experience joy and participate in sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community."
