Thurston’s Lobster Pound Honored

A list has just come out, from Best Things Maine listing the 10 Best Seafood Restaurants in Maine. 9 of them are from Portland south, with just 1 in Down East Maine. That was Thurston Lobster Pound in Barnard!

According to the list

"Open May through October, Thurston’s Lobster Pound offers a friendly and relaxing dining experience right on the shores of Mount Desert Island’s busiest working harbors. From your seat under the covered patio, you can see the lobster boats returning with your dinner as fresh as can be. Thurston’s is all about lobster, but you’ll find other seafood dishes like crab cakes, steamed mussels, and seafood chowder on the menu. "

I have never eaten there, but it's on my To Do List for this summer! I think that the author of the list should travel a little in our area, because there are some darn good seafood restaurants that can rival any on her list in Southern Maine!
