Thunder Hole, one of the premier attractions in Acadia National Park will be closed for 2 months while park maintenance workers make repairs to the stairway leading to the attraction. It closed Friday, March 27th and is expected to remain closed until May 22nd (just before Memorial Day)

Acadia National Park will be celebrating it's 100th Anniversary in 2016. The repair to Thunder Hole has been planned for some time, given the beating the pavement, railings and stairs takes during high tides and storms.
