June 22-23 is the 64th edition of the annual event Art in the Park, right on the Village Green in Bar Harbor! More than 35 painters and photographers will display and sell their original work. I have been to this, and it's great to walk around and be able to spend a few minutes talking to the artists and hear them talk about their work.

Two weeks later it's the huge 4th of July Celebration in Bar Harbor! The day starts off with a huge blueberry pancake breakfast at 6AM. From 9-3 there's a huge craft fair. The parade steps off at 10 AM and with this year's theme  "The Way Life Should Be: Hometown Pride" it's sure to bring out a great display of local pride! The 2014 Grand Marshall will be Earl Brechlin, the 2013 Cadillac Award Winner

Starting at 11 AM it's the Seafood Festival followed by the Lobster Races! From 4 to 9 there is the free concert series at the Town Pier. The Bar Harbor Town Band will be playing on the Village Green from 7:30 to 8:30.

About 9:15 fireworks will be shot off over Frenchman Bay, with the best viewing right in Agamont Park. New this year, there's a competition to sing the National Anthem prior to the fireworks! If you're interested in singing, you need to submit your You Tube video prior to June 20th!
