I went down to the Bar Harbor Chamber of Commerce today, June 17th and spoke with Jennifer Wright, the Event Coordinator about Art in the Park, the 64th Annual Art Show on the Village Green this weekend, June 21 and June 22. The forecast for the weekend calls for clear skies with temperatures around 70, perfect to go and view the art displayed and talk with the artists!

In addition, we spoke about the 4th of July! Events start at 6 AM with the Blueberry Pancake Breakfast and run throughout the day, straight through to fireworks around 9 PM.

9:00am-3:00pm Craft Fair/Marketplace

Bar Harbor, YMCA, 21 Park Street-- The Island Arts Association will be hold a Craft Fair/Marketplace at the YMCA. We will have a wonderful selection of Maine crafts, including jewelry, quilts, photographs, pottery, and porcelain dolls. Please join us for a joint fund raiser for the YMCA and the YWCA. 10am Independence Day Parade

Downtown Bar Harbor-- The community shows off its patriotism and good humor at this community favorite. The parade route winds through downtown Bar Harbor from Main St to Cottage Street to Eden Street to Mt Desert St to Ledgelawn Ave. This year's theme is "The Way Life Should Be: Hometown Pride" is sure to bring out a great display of local pride! The 2014 Grand Marshall will be Earl Brechlin, the 2013 Cadillac Award Winner. 11am Seafood Festival

After the Parade, MDI YMCA Annual Lobster Races!

Bar Harbor Athletic Field, Park Street-- Watch local businesses put their lobsters to the test in a high-speed crustacean contest where guts and determination will reign supreme.
