Here's where you can "belly up" this Saturday and put on a few pounds!

The 51st Winter Harbor Lobster Festival kicks off Saturday morning with a blueberry pancake breakfast in the Masonic Hall at 6AM, and lasting until 10!  The popular Festival continues with the 5K George Schaeffer Memorial road race in Birch Harbor. Registration at 7 and the race begins at 8. The all day Craft Fair begins at 9 in the Winter Harbor School Gym.  Meanwhile, give a listen to the roar of the engines as the lobster boat races begin at 10 out in the bay.  The every popular Lobster Dinner happens between 11 and 3, and then the whole thing winds down with the parade on Main Street beginning at 5:30, a Contra Dance at Hammond Hall and then fireworks at dusk!

Yes, even though the Navy base closed years ago, things still happen in beautiful Winter Harbor!

Meanwhile, at the "crossroads of Downeast Maine", the 53rd Annual Ellsworth Rotary's Blueberry Pancake Breakfast kicks off at 7AM!  This is a BIG one and very well attended!  Find it happening under the tent at R.F. Jordan Construction on Water Street in Ellsworth! All the blueberry pancakes that you can eat, including sausage, coffee and juice!  Tickets are $7 and children under 12 can eat for $3. It lasts until 10:30AM.  Proceeds go towards the Rotary's charitable efforts in the area.  Make sure you check out the great ragtime music by the Fletcher's Landing Philharmonic Orchestra!
