The Piscataquis Heritage Hot Air Balloon Festival BeginsToday

It's a very big weekend coming up in more ways than one at the Piscataquis Valley Fairgrounds in Dover-Foxcroft!  It's the 2nd Annual Piscataquis Heritage Hot Air Balloon Festival!

Here's your chance to view many colorful and very big hot air balloons both on the ground and in-flight, and you can even for a ride!

The Festival is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Dover-Foxcroft and the Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce.  The three day event begins this Friday and ends Sunday.

Besides the spectacle of the gathering of balloons, many local artisans and tradesmen will display their products and give demonstrations!  Take time to stroll throughout the educational tents, the agricultural displays, the Fireman's Museum and of course check out all of the food vendors!  More events include bands performing, chainsaw carving, helicopter rides, an antique car show and a "roaming railroad!"

The event happens rain or shine and there's only a $2 admission charge, kids under 3 get in free.
