The teenager behind the wheel in a crash that killed Taylor Darveau of Bucksport in October has been charged in connection with her death.

The 16-year-old girl was summoned Wednesday evening on charges of manslaughter and driving to endanger, according to media reports. Because she is being charged as a juvenile, Townsquare Media will not publish her name.

Darveau, a 15-year-old student at Bucksport High School, was the passenger in the car that crashed into a tree on Bucksmills Road on the evening of Oct. 3, 2013.

Police cited speed and driver inexperience as factors in the crash.
