Tapley to Join Marine Corps After Graduation

Former MDI Trojan Sierra Tapley will be heading to Marine Base Quantico in May to spend the summer at Officer Candidate School as part of the Marine Corps Platoon Leaders Class.

Tapley, now a sophomore at the University of Maine still had 3 years of basketball eligibility. Upon graduation she will be commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.

Out of the 1160 candidates who made the final cut, Tapley was 1 of only 10 females who made the academic and physical cut!
