Tapley and Swanson Honored

MDI's Sierra Tapley and Riley Swanson were honored by the Big East Basketball Conference Monday night, January 5th, 2015.

Sierra Tapley was named Big East Girl's Player of the Week for Week 4.

The MDI Girls beat Caribou 67-38 on December 29th and Tapley had 13 points including a 3 pointer. The next afternoon MDI defeated Presque Isle 70-64 to snap the Wildcats 6 year home unbeaten streak. Tapley had 27 points to lead all scorers, including 3 3-pointers. Finally, MDI defeated Ellsworth 76-47 and Tapley had 18 points including 2 3-pointers.

Riley Swanson was the Big East Boy's Co-Player of the Week, sharing the honor with Eric Hoogterp of Old Town.

MDI upset Ellsworth 60-56 on Saturday, January 3rd. Swanson had a game high 16 points, including 2 3-pointers. On December 30th, MDI won their first game of the season, defeating Presque Isle 80-55.Swanson had a game high 15 points including 3 3-pointers. In MDI's loss to Caribou on December 29th, Swanson had a team high 20 points with 3-3-pointers.
