The Park Loop Road in Acadia National Park will be closed to motor vehicles for the season starting December 1st, with the exception of the two mile section from the Sand Beach Entrance station to the Otter cliff Road (accessible via the Schooner Head Road in Bar Harbor) and the Jordan Pond area (accessible via Jordan Pond Road in Seal Harbor).
How did you spend your summer? MDI High School alumni Will Greene, and students Matthew Lambert and Emma Forthofer were fortunate to spend the summer in Acadia National Park working for the Friends of Acadia as part of the Acadia Youth Technology Team.
Acadia National Park will go car free this coming Saturday, September 17th from midnight until noon. In addition, in celebration of National Public Lands' Day, all visitors will receive a free entry to Acadia National Park all day long.
Thunder Hole was booming on Tuesday, September 6th as Maine was feeling the effects of extra-Tropical Storm Hermine. There were high surf advisories and rangers in Acadia National Park closed the area so visitors wouldn't climb down.
