The sweep of the Atlanta Braves went by the boards last night as Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz struggled and the Braves won game four of the series 5-3.

Buchholz pitched into the seventh innings but it was a long, slow journey getting there. Five earned runs, eight hits, four walks and 104 pitches. His ERA is 6.51

Nick Markakis led the Braves with four hits and three RBI.

For the Sox offense, Hanley Ramirez had three hits and two RBI. Dustin Pedroia had two hits. But, the Sox struck out nine times.

So they settled for three of four against the hapless Braves and get ready for a 3 game weekend series against the Yankees. Henry Owens will take the mound for the Red Sox Friday night with the pregame starting at 6:25 and first pitch at 7:10 PM on AM 1370 WDEA.
