Sumner Girls Fall to Calais

It was a tough night for the Sumner Lady Tigers, as they lost to the Calais Lady Blue Devils 78-29  at home on Wednesday December 28th.

Calais jumped out to a 19-8 lead at the end of the 1st Quarter. Lauren Cook had 6 points, Sydney Farrar had 6 points, Olivia Huckins had 4 points and Katie Erskine had 3 points for Calais. For Sumner Emma Bunch and Maggie Perry each had 4 points.

Calais made it 50-15 at the end of the 1st Half. Faith Tirrell had 7 points with a 3-pointer, Prue Maxwell had 6 points with a 3-pointer, Farrar had 5 points, Kayti Doten had 5 points, Lauren Cook had 4 points, Huckins had 3 points and Erskine had 2 points for the Lady Blue Devils.  For Sumner Perry had 4 points, and Raquel Barnes had 2 points.

It was 73-25 at the end of the 3rd Quarter. Cook had 10 points with 2 3-pointers, Huckins had 7 points with a 3-pointer, Elizabethe Bitar had 2 points and Erskine was 1-2 from the free throw line for Calais. For Sumner, Bunch had 4 points, Perry 4 points and Kala Young 2 points.

Calais was led by Lauren Cook with 20 points, Olivia Huckins had 14 points and Sydney Farrar had 11 points. Calais was 12-20 from the free throw line.

Sumner was led by Maggie Perry with 15 points while Emma Bunch had 8 points. The Lady Tigers were 3-13 from the free throw line.

Calais is now 4-0 and is scheduled to play at Washington Academy on Thursday, December 29th at 7 PM weather permitting.

Sumner is 1-5 and will play at Bangor Christian on Monday, January 2nd at 5 PM.
