It was a good day for the Sumner Memorial High School program on Wednesday, October 3rd as both the Girls and Boys teams defeated the Deer-Isle Stonington Mariners. The Girls won 7-2 while the Boys won 10-1.

In the Girls game Skyler Soule had 2 goals and 3 assists, Lexie Bright had 2 goals, Emma Bunch 1 goal and 2 assists and Rachel Colby and Taya Worcester each added a goal. Amanda Brooks also chipped in with an assist for the Tigers.

The Sumner Girls are now 6-2-1 and will travel to Lincoln to play Mattanawcook Academy on Saturday, October 6th at 12 Noon.

The Mariner Girls are 1-7-2 and will play host to Calais on Monday, October 8th at 12Noon.

In the Boys game Damon Warren led the attack with five goals for Sumner. Caelan Billings added two goals and an assist. Also scoring for Sumner were Sam Bunch, David Allen, who also had two assists, Mike Merchant and Eliosandro Jungo. Eduardo Figueroa, Silas Goldfarb, Orlando Herrera, Landon Bernier and Austin Britton each added assists.

Toby Snow had 11 saves on 22 shots for Deer Isle-Stonington. Alex Rumill, Bryce Coombs and Eduardo Figueroa combined for 3 saves on 4 shots for Sumner.
Sumner, 9-1 will play host to Bangor Christian on Friday, October 5th at 4PM
Deer Isle-Stonington is 0-11 and will play host to Jonesport Beals on Saturday, October 6th at 12Noon.
