Well of course it's the way life should be, it's summer in Maine!

From Redneck "Blank" to symphony concerts, blueberries to balloons, chances are there's a summer time festival, fair, or concert that will delight and this weekend is no exception.

Nearly two dozen hot air balloons are taking to the air in central Maine for the 21st annual Great Falls Balloon Festival.

Organizers are expecting 21 balloons for this year’s festival, which kicks off today and runs through Sunday in Lewiston and Auburn.

Balloons are scheduled to launch each day at 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. The balloons are tethered each afternoon so people can get up-close looks at them. The festival draws about 100,000 people each year.

The eastern Maine town of Machias is celebrating all things blueberry for the next three days during the 38th annual Machias Wild Blueberry Festival.

The festival begins today and features blueberry farm tours, a blueberry pancake breakfast and a blueberry pie-eating contest. There'll also be crafts, food, entertainment, contests, a children’s parade, a road race, a baked bean supper and the 8th annual Blackfly Ball on tomorrow night.

The festival wraps up on Sunday.
