I normally don't get into politics here on the WDEA website, and I really try to stay away from it on Facebook. And I normally hate "celebrity" endorsements, because, why should I value that celebrity's opinion over someone else's opinion. But, I'm totally with Stephen King this year! His latest Facebook status was "Before voting next week, why not make a list of the vilest negative ads and vote against those people, no matter what party."

I have never been so put off with the negative advertising, than what I have been this year! It seems that no one can tell you what they are going to do, they spend most of the time ripping their opponent. If Mother Teresa were running this year, she'd be accused of spending too much time with the poor and wearing the same outfit every day!

Just think of ALL the money that's been wasted this year in the negative advertising. Now before you say anything, yes we run that on the radio stations, and have to. We can't pick and choose who's money we take. But seriously, if all that negative money was used to feed the hungry, or buy heating oil and fuel for those that need help, the world would be a heck of a lot better!

I have run for office. I was on the Bangor City Council from 1990-1993. It takes a lot to put your name out there these days. I realize that a lot of the negative advertising comes from outside groups, but seriously, if you are a candidate and are "benefiting" from this negative advertising, how can you look yourself in the face in the mirror in the morning with some of these claims? Surely you have to be embarrassed aren't you? And if you are, why don't you come out and  say something? And if you aren't, why would I want to vote for you?

That's my opinion. I'm Chris Popper and I approve of this message!
