Daylight Savings Time begins Sunday morning, March 12th at 2 AM, so remember to set your clocks ahead 1 hour before going to be Saturday night!

This means it will be lighter later, and a little darker in the morning when you wake up on Sunday. As a matter of fact sunrise in Bar Harbor on Sunday will now be at 6:47 AM and sunset will be at 6:37 PM. Days will appear to become longer quickly and by the end of the month on March 31st sunrise will be at 6:12 AM and sunset will be at 7:01 PM!

What's as equally important as setting your clocks ahead a hour, is remembering to change the batteries in your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. When you go to the store this weekend, make sure you pick up "D" batteries, or whatever your detector uses. Be sure to put the new batteries in right away too, because there's nothing worse than a detector without batteries!
