After cruising to an easy win in the home opener the Boston Red Sox had to come from behind to beat Washington Tuesday by an 8-7 score. The Red Sox have won their first 3 series of the season for the first time since 1952! The Nationals took a 7-5 lead into the 7th inning after exploding for 6 runs in the 5th. That's when the Sox took advantage of hit batters and timely hits to score 3 runs and hang on for the win.

Dustin Pedroia had 3 hits in the game including a homerun while Mookie Betts added a 2-run double to help the Sox improve to 6-2 on the season. The Red Sox didn't win their 6th game until their 15th game in 2014, when they were 6-9

Koji Uehara made his first appearance of the season after coming off the disabled list Monday. Despite a scare in the 9th inning he struck out two and got his first save of the season.

Manager John Farrell on the victory...

The Sox go for the series sweep this afternoon at Fenway with the pregame starting at .12:50 PM and first pitch at 1:35 on Jackie Robinson Day.
