The Boston Red Sox will play the Detroit Tigers in Game 6 of their best of 7 series to determine the American League Champion tonight, Saturday October 19th. The first pitch will be delivered at 8:07 and the pregame will start at 7:20 on WDEA AM 1370. The Red Sox will send Clay Buchholz to the mound, and the Tigers will counter with Max Scherzer, in a rematch of Game 2, that the Red Sox won thanks to a grand slam by David Ortiz and a walk off hit by Jarrod Saltalamacchia.

Boston is 9-3 all-time in the sixth game of a postseason set, including 5-0 at home. The club is 5-0 all-time in the sixth game of an ALCS, with two of those games at Fenway (1986, 2007).

The winner will face the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series, with the World Series starting Wednesday, in either Fenway Park or in Detroit, as a result of the American League winning the All Star Game this July. The Red Sox defeated the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series in 2004 and lost to them in 1967 and 1946.
