The Red Sox could do nothing with Angels pitcher Matt Shoemaker and suffered yet another loss at Fenway Park - a 2-0 loss, meaning they got swept in a four game series at home.

Shoemaker took a no-hitter into the 7th inning when Will Middlebrooks broke up the bid with a double. It turned out to be the only hit on the night for the Sox.

Sox pitcher Rubby De La Rosa deserved better. He lasted 6 2/3 innings and gave up just two runs on eight hits. De La Rosa struck out eight.

The Sox played without the middle of their lineup. David Ortiz had the night off, Mike Napoli out with back spasms and Yoenis Cespedes left the game in the third inning with what the team callled a "personal matter".
