The Boston Red Sox could not build on the momentum gained on Friday night as they fell to the LA Angels by a 5-2 score on Saturday night.

The Sox started off the game strong with another lead off home run by Mookie Betts.  Hanley Ramirez would also add to the advantage in the first, driving in Dustin Pedroia to give the Sox a 2-0 lead.  That would be the end of the Boston scoring as 22 players we left on base by the Sox hitting throughout the night.

Drew Pomeranz surrendered five runs through five and a third innings pitched from the hill.  He allowed six hits and two walks during his outing and with the loss, dropped his record to 8-9 on the year.

The Sox lost ground in the American League East race to the Blue Jays who beat the Orioles 9-1 on Saturday afternoon.  Boston is now two games back in the division as they wrap up their series on Sunday afternoon.  Steven Wright will go for the Sox against Tyler Skaggs with the first pitch coming at 3:35 p.m and the pregame starting at 2:50 on AM 1370 WDEA.
