The Boston Red Sox lost their first Spring Training game against a major league opponent on Friday afternoon, February 24th, falling to the New York Mets 3-2.

The Red Sox managed only 2 hits in the game, the first coming in the bottom of the 7th inning, when Hanley Ramirez stroked a double. Brian Boigusevic a non-roster invitee hit a 2 run homer for the Red Sox, for Boston's other hit and the lone runs for the Red Sox.

Henry Owens started for the Red Sox and allowed 2 runs on 3 hits over 2 innings. He struck out 4 and walked 1.

The Red Sox will play the Minnesota Twins on Saturday afternoon at 1 PM. We will NOT have that game on the radio, as we will be airing the MDI Trojan's Boy's Basketball Finals against the Orono Red Riots starting at about 3:30.

The next Red Sox game on WDEA AM 1370 will be Sunday at 1 PM when the Red Sox play the Tampa Bay Rays.
