The Boston Red Sox own a three game winning streak, for the 6th time this season, after defeating the Kansas City Royals 4-1 on Thursday, August 20th.

Wade Miley went a strong 7.1 innings, allowing just 1 earned run and 6 hits. He struck out 6 and didn't allow a walk, as he picked up the win and is now 10-9 on the season. Junichi Tazawa pitched a scoreless 9th inning for his 2nd save of the season.

The Red Sox banged out 10 hits, with every starter having a hit with the exception of David Ortiz and Hanley Ramirez. Mookie Betts was 2-4, Xander Bogaerts was 2-4 and Travis Shaw was 2-3 with a double. Jackie Bradley Jr. was 1-4 with a triple.

The two teams are back at it Friday night in the 2nd game of the 4 game series with the pregame starting at 6:25 PM and first pitch at 7:10 on AM 1370 WDEA. The Red Sox will send Henry Owens to the mound while the Royals send Johnny Cueto to the hill.
