Southwest Harbor Parking Lot Troubles

The conflict between Ken Korona who owns the Southwest Harbor Post Office building and the parking lot and the Town of Southwest Harbor has reached a boiling point.

In a email sent out by the Acadia Chamber on behalf of Ken Korona it stated that
"Beginning Monday, July 9, the Parking Lot at the Post Office Building will be reserved for use by people while they are visiting one of the tenants of the Post Office building.  Violators are subject to being towed without further warning.  This includes the paved portion of the parking lot as well as unpaved area."

The email went on further to say, "I (Korona) have submitted to the Town Manager an offer to sell the entire parking lot to the Town, as well as an offer to lease the entire parking lot for a 10 year period. It is up to the Town Manager and the Select Board to determine if they wish to pursue either of these options or neither."
