1:23 Update Saturday November 1st. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 8 PM Saturday through 1 AM Monday November 3rd. For Northeast, East Central and Downeast Maine, we can expect 7 to 14 inches of snow.

The heavy wet snow, coupled with strong winds and leaves still on trees will result in power outages

Well, at least it held off until after Halloween! The National Weather Service in Caribou has issued a Winter Storm Watch beginning Saturday evening November 1st!

As of Friday night, the forecast is calling for 7 to 12 inches of SNOW beginning Saturday evening through Sunday evening, with visibility less than a half a mile, especially during Sunday afternoon.  Because the snow will be heavy, and there will be quite a bit of wind, 15 -25 miles per hour, with gusts 35-45 miles per hour, there exists the strong possibility of power outages.

Remember, it takes a snowstorm or two before everyone remembers how to drive in it each winter. Give yourself extra time if you have to go out in the snowstorm, especially on Sunday!

Be sure to bring in your porch furniture Saturday. It's no fun trying to bring everything in when it's wet and snowy! Also be sure to change your smoke detector batteries before you go to bed Saturday night!

The only good thing is that we will all get an extra hour of sleep on Saturday night as Daylight Saving's Time ends!
