The Boston Red Sox jumped out to an early 3-1 lead, but in the end needed 12 innings to beat the Cincinnati Reds 4-3.The Reds scored two runs in the 8th inning off Junichi Tazawa to get the game tied and force extra innings. David ortiz led off the 12th with a single and advanced to second when Mike Napoli followed with a single of his own. With two on and no outs Grady Sizemore hit a ball off the Green Monster in left center field driving in Ortiz with the winning run.

It was the fourth career walk-off hit for Sizemore, but his first since August of 2006. The Sox have won three of their last four games and will send Jake Peavy to the mound today to try and sweep the 2-game set.

After the game Manager John Farrell talked about the win including Sizemaore's big hit.
