The Red Sox finally provided some offense for Chris Sale. Sandy Leon hit his 1st homer of the season, in fact the 1st by a Red Sox catcher, a 3 run shot in the 6th inning off former Red Sox pitcher Doug Fister. JD Martinez also hit a solo homer, his 8th off Fister. Martinez also had a double. Mitch Moreland, was 2-4 with a double.

The only negative for the Red Sox was that Mookie Betts left the game after getting hurt running the bases, getting hit in the right shoulder as Ranger's first baseman Ronald Guzman tried to double Betts at second after fielding a grounder. Betts is considered day to day.

The Boston Red Sox are now 25-9 and are still 1 game ahead of the New York Yankees who have won 15 out of their last 16 games. The Red Sox are off on Monday and  will start a 3 game series in New York on Tuesday, May 8th.Tuesday night's pregame starts at 6:20 and 1st pitch at 7:05 on AM 1370 WDEA.
