Nathan Eovaldi had another rough start for Boston, going 4 innings and allowing 6 runs on 8 hits. He struck out 5. The relievers were no better. Heath Hembree allowed 1 run in 1 inning and Matt Barnes gave up 2 runs in 1 inning.

Mookie Betts, Eduardo Nunez and Jackie Bradley Jr had Boston's lone hits. Betts had a a double.

The New York Yankees were playing the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday night and a win would put them 6 games back behind the Red Sox, while a loss will put them 7 games back.
