Rose Asks New Commish To Lift Ban [POLL]

Pete Rose is baseball's all-time hit leader and now he's asking new MLB commissioner Rob Manfred to let him back in the game.

Manfred says he has received a formal request from Rose to lift a lifetime ban imposed on him back in 1989. Rose agreed to the ban after an investigation accused him of betting on Cincinnati Reds game when he was a player and manager.

Rose is now 71-years-old and has not been eligible for the Hall of Fame. He had 4,256 lifetime hits.

Manfred says he will hear what Rose has to say and will make a decision.

Former commissioners Fay Vincent and Bud Selig were against allowing Rose back in baseball.
