The Boston Red Sox have played some bad games this season but it's hard to believe any could be as bad as their 8-0 loss to the Texas Rangers Saturday night. The Boston offense could not find an answer to the pitching of Chi Chi Rodriguez who was making his major league debut and no-hit the Sox into the 6th inning when David Ortiz broke up the no-no with a double. Ortiz was eventually caught in a run down between third and home and would be the only Boston player to reach third base in the game.

Wade Miley took the loss on the mound after allowing 6 runs on 9 hits in just 4 innings of work.

Not only was the Sox offense and starting pitching bad, but the defense had a rough go of it as well committing three errors in the game. Brock Holt who was playing shortstop made 2 throwing errors while Miley made one himself. Third baseman, Pablo Sandoval also misplayed a couple of ground balls at third base.

The Sox will try to take the series finale when the two teams play this afternoon with Joe Kelly getting the start for Boston. The pregame starts at 2:40 with the first pitch at 3:05 on AM 1370 WDEA.
